She became a household name back home after participating in the TV-show Pop Idol in Norway in 2004 and is remembered for her big voice and strong personality. Maria is thankful for the support from the Norwegian audience after winning the national pre-selection, and she is really looking forward to the festival in Belgrade in May.
Already popular with UK Eurovision fans, Maria won first place in a large vote on the first Eurovision Song Contest semi final in London this month. Thrilled at the result, Maria is grabbing her bags and heading to London to meet her British fans and take her place at the biggest preview party of the year anywhere in Europe.
The hugely talented singer released her first studio album in 2005 which was called Breathing. She completed her second studio album after her victory in Norway, which includes the Eurovision Song Contest entry Hold On Be Strong. The album will be released in the near future. Maria will also be treating the audience in London to a special performance of one of her new songs as well as performing the song she hopes the UK fans will give 12 points to at the Eurovision Song Contest.
