Morena heads to London after winning the 2008 Malta Song For Europe Festival with the song Vodka, by Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg. Her prize is to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Described as the Mediterranean Volcano, she has got one of the most particular voices in Malta, and she sings anything from rock to progressive pop. Morena has swept through the local music scene like a tornado, winning some of the most prestigious festivals along the way.

Relatively new to the music scene, she has been coached by her elder sister Georgina, who is a soprano, she slowly but surely began to develop her vocal talent. Once she was 18 she became the lead singer of the band Spectrum, and is still their lead singer today.

In the last year, she also met one of Malta’s most successful song writers, Gerard James Borg who immediately was very impressed by Morena, and the successful song-writing duo that is Mr. Borg and Philip Vella decided to invest their time and energy in the Mediterranean Volcano.

A few months later she was performing on the Malta Song for Europe podium, belting out the catchy song which she prefers to describe as progressive pop. She won the festival, winning the media’s and people’s hearts on the way, now it’s the turn of London to experience her amazing talent.
